Everybody Wang Chung Tonight!

The can-do-no-wrong designer, Alexander Wang, opened his first store last week in the ever popular NY neighborhood of Soho. He enlisted the help of designer, Ryan Korban, to assist in the layout of the flagship store. Wang didn't want a strictly retail vibe. He wanted guests to feel like they were walking into his home and in fact, the store was modeled after his Tribeca apartment. It seems the collaborators met in the middle because the look is exactly what one would expect from the duo - minimalistic, high contrast, and everything in its place. The look is purposeful but nothing too pretentious.

I love the addition of the fox fur hammock. It screams, we don't take ourselves too seriously! The last photo is an installation that will evolve with time but at the moment, is made up of baby's breath arch ways.

Below are pictures from Ryan Korban's very own boutique, Edon Manor, which he opened several years ago with a friend:

The vibe is much more feminine and cozy yet still offers that boutique shopping experience.
Another space from Korban although i'm not sure what store it is from. I think it's such a great, touch space. Seems to suit Ryan's personal style perfectly.
