It's that time of year again to break out the new calendars and make those resolutions for the better. I've come across so many cool calendars in my own personal search that I cannot decide what I want.

Similar to the calendars above, both of these yearly calendars are individual pictures made for frames. I love the idea of the entire year hanging in frames on a giant wall, in a kitchen perhaps - courtesy of 2modern blog (left) and etsy (right)

Denim Tuxedo

A friend and I were just discussing the new (ok, revived) trend of denim shirts. She was a little skeptical while I was a little excited! This is not the grungy, worn with a plaid flannel skirt and Doc Martens look we saw in the 90s or the rock 'n roll look we saw on and off stage in the 80s. This is, a more pulled-together and dare-I-say, feminine look when worn with something fitted or sparkly. From Preppy to Trendy, this shirt can work for pretty much everyone. The one thing to avoid, wearing head-to-toe denim. No one likes a denim tuxedo. NO ONE.

If you're looking for something a little more subdued, try a chambray shirt. It is a more relaxed fabric and doesn't have as much detailing.

Merry Christmas Bow

For all of you out there who are wrapping those last-minute gifts, you may want to give these bows a try. They're so adorable and add a person touch those packaged bows cannot.

Cut felt into 9 strips, 3/4" wide. Leave 3 of the strips full length. Cut one inch off 3 of the strips. Cut two inches off 2 of the strips. Cut the last strip down to 3 1/2" long.

Twist each strip to form a loop at both ends and staple it in the center. Shape the last, short strip into a circle and secure it with a glue dot.

Layer the 3 longest pieces on top of each other, spacing them evenly and securing each with a glue dot. Add the next two groups of pieces, doing the same. And finally, stick the loop into the center.

Winter Treads

Unfortunately, winter is here and really, it's only just begun. For those of you in warmer climates, I'm jealous. I decided this morning, as I trudged through a slushie parking lot (at a snails pace mind you) that I needed something a little more reliable than my riding boots for those snowy days. I'm loving these traditional LL Bean style boots - the fam and I each had a pair back in the 80s and now they're back. I wish my mom kept hers!
